Chinese pianist Ji Liu recent shared his improvisation of Li Huanzhi’s Spring Festival Suite, and it seems to be an apt way way to ring in the Chinese New Year.
The Spring Festival Overture was composed in the 1950s with the intention of creating an atmosphere of Chinese New Year (also known as the Spring Festival) in music.
Ji Liu even uses snare drum to add realism to his very own arrangement, something that he created to celebrate this year’s Chinese New Year.
