A 110 year old piano, which was listed on Craigslist, was salvaged by artist and musician Jonathan Miranda Sickmeyer.
Unfortunately “all the keys were stripped of their ivory so I couldn’t salvaged any of it,” says Jonathan but rather than trash the craftsmanship he decided to transform the piano into a unique and beautiful looking piano desk.
Sickmeyer’s unique furniture showcases the intricate inner working of the piano while producing a dynamic backdrop for his iMac. It’s easily the most eye-catching piece in the room.
“Some say that I ruined a fine piano, but I feel the opposite to that. I was able to take this piano, that was going to be thrown away, and give a new purpose in life,” Jonathan.
