You might feel its a bit expensive if this is going to be your first guitar but the Epiphone Les Paul 100 electric guitar is what you want if you are serious about your music. The best thing is that you get all the features of a Les Paul but in a much more affordable version. The slimmer body makes it even more comfortable to play.

Epiphone LP-100 – Body & Neck

The guitar’s body is made of mahagony. Its made of maple and serves a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and white dot inlays.

The neck is where the Epiphone stands out from the Gibson. The neck is bolt-on attached (Gibson Les Pauls have set necks). While experienced players don’t like bolt on neck, it works just fine on a guitar in this price bracket.

The axe is equipped with 2 Humbuckers, one at the neck (650R) and the bridge (700T), as well as a three-way switch indicating Treble and Rhythm. You dont need to upgrade anything right away, when you first buy it. If your skills indeed outrun the stock pick-ups, you can upgrade the guitar and still enjoy it for years to come. However, do not buy a Squire or a First Act, in a hurry or you will end up wasting your money.

Epiphone Les Paul 100 Electric Guitar

Les Paul was an excellent jazz and blues guitarist, and an innovative guitar-maker. If you’ve always wanted to buy a Lespaul (because of their better tone and playability) but didn’t want to spend thousands of dollars, you may go for the LP-100 instead. Many blues players actually prefer epiphone guitars as they are highly respected world wide the only difference is sometimes the pearl inlays on the neck wear eventually but that’s no biggy for a true guitarist.

I’ve been playing a fender tele for years and recently I got the itch to get a les Paul, I looked and looked and finally picked up on of line. When it got to the house I noticed that it says Gibson at the top of the neck between the tuners on the little plate where most I’ve seen say “studio” Or “custom pro” I was wondering was there any significance to this?
For I absolutely love the feel and action! It’s definitely completely different then a tele but not a bad difference….just a different style. I haven’t got to play with it much since I’m an otr truck driver and it came bout 1 hour before I had to leave but so far I love it! If you know anything about the Gibson on the headstock plate and could pass along any info I’d be greatly appreciative!
